Meet our Founder

A lifelong resident of Pinellas County, Sean Thornton, MA, brings a unique blend of experience and passion to his work. Sean began his career in 1992 as a firefighter, a role he served for 25 years with the St. Petersburg Fire Rescue, eventually earning a promotion to Fire Lieutenant in 2012.

Throughout his time as a firefighter, Sean saw firsthand the mental health challenges many individuals face. This experience sparked a deep passion to help others struggling with their mental well-being, motivating him to pursue a master's degree in psychology and begin a new career journey.

In this second career, he recognized a critical need for effective management training. He saw that many supervisors and mid-level administrators lacked the necessary skills to lead their teams effectively and manage their own emotions, which often created unhealthy work environments.

Driven by this insight, Sean founded Epic Quest in 2024. At Epic Quest, his mission is to empower individuals and organizations across Florida. He provides honest, integrated, and professional personal and professional development training that is grounded in psychological principles and evidence-based practices.

Sean is dedicated to helping you strengthen your career and organization. He invites you to embark on your own epic quest through programs focused on leadership, work-life balance, health and wellness, customer service, unity in the workplace, personality insights, and emotional intelligence.
